"Sending' reported error (0x800CCC65) : 'Your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: 503 Valid RCPT command must precede DATA'"
You would generally get this error if "SMTP Authentication" isn't enabled in your email client, Microsoft Outlook.
Follow the steps below to enable SMTP Authentication in Microsoft Outlook:
- Open outlook
- Go to Tools/Email Accounts
- Select the Account and click Change
- Click on More Settings
- Click on Outgoing Server Tab
- Click "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) requires authentication" and make sure "Use same settings as incoming mail server" is selected.
Now try sending an email in Outlook using the domain account.
Another possible reason for the issue is an Antivirus or Firewall which is checking and blockiung your outgoing mail connections. In case you have followed the instructions above to enable SMTP Authentication, please disable your anti-virus or firewall and try sending email again. If it works, your Antivirus or Firewall is blocking outgoing emails and you would need to ask your IT support staff to rectify the problem.
