How do I point my domain to another server?

I built my website on Wix, Yola, or another free website builder and want to point my domain to their server. How do I do this?

First, some basics about domains and hosting:
Your domain is just a domain name, and needs to point to a set of Nameservers, which tells the world where your domain connects to. If you order a web hosting account with us, your 1
domain's nameservers will be setup for you, automatically. But you can also point your domain to another server, or set of servers (for more advanced users).

You can point your domain to another server, in two different ways:
  1. Update your nameservers. You can do this in our billing portal under "Domains" > "My Domains" > "Manage Domain" (next to the domain question) > "NameServers. Just change the existing nameserver entries to those supplied by Wix, Yola, or the hosting company that you want to host with. This option will redirect all traffic on your domain, including your website, email, FTP, and everything else connected to your domain to the other server. Do note: WIX, Yola and most of the free website builders don't offer email, so you will need to change the MX record in their control panel to point back to our server.
  2. Update the "www A record", to use the WIX provided IP address. This will allow you to keep your email on our servers, whereas the 1st option doesn't offer email. Unless you can instruct WIX to use our IP address for email. For this method, you need to use the Advance DNS Zone editor in cPanel, change the "www CNAME" to a "www A" record and supply the IP address of the WIX server. As a last step, and to ensure everyone can view your website on either http://{domain} or http://www.{domain}, goto "Domain Redirects" and add a "Permanent  Redirect" from htt://{domain} to http://www.{domain}
