How to enable SMTP Authentication in Outlook 2010

Follow these steps to enable SMTP Authentication in Microsoft Outlook 2010:

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2010
  2. Click on File > Info
  3. Click on Account Settings > Account Settings
  4. Select your email account from the list and click on Change
  5. Click on More Settings
  6. Click on Outgoing Server
  7. Tick the box labeled, "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires Authentication".
  8. Keep the default setting, "Use same settings as my incoming mail server".
  9. Click OK to finish this step.
  10. Click Next to finish and then Finish to complete the process.
