If you have any doubts or troubles on uploading files through Front Page, FTP or the cPanel File manager please don't hesitate to submit a support ticket for further clarity
Secure FTP
There are many different FTP clients available, and we highly recommend using FileZilla FTP Client (http://filezilla-project.org/download.php) since it's free and very easy to use.
Our servers only support TLS over FTP, or more commonly known as FTPES for security reasons. This encrypts both your username & password to the server, as well as the data being sent to the server and as such helps prevent hackers from getting your username & password. Please use the following URL for any tutorials on using FileZilla FTP Client: http://wiki.filezilla-project.org/Documentation
You need to add your domain(s) to FileZilla FTP Client's Site Manager before you can use it.
Host: yoursite.co.za (don't add http://www.) or Server IP which was sent to you in your cPanel welcome mail
Port: 21
Protocol: FTP
Encryption: Require explicit FTP over TLS / FTPES
Login Type: Normal
User: Your cPanel username
Password: Your cPanel password
UPLOAD DIRECTORY: www OR public_html
Note: Replace yoursite.co.za with your actual domain name, this is just a sample
Your home page must be placed in the "www" directory and must be named "index.htm", "index.html" or "index.php". This is the file that the server looks for when someone types your URL: http://www.yoursite.co.za in their Web browser.
The www folder is also commonly known as your website's root folder. Simply put, this is where everything begins on your website. If you want to put something in a subfolder, like http://www.yoursite.co.za/images you can create the images folder here, and then upload the files to it.
